Building https://Thymer.com - A new IDE but for notes and tasks (local-first, encrypted and multiplayer)
note-taking software doesn't need to be bloated or slow! (yes this is actual 1x speed 🔥)
UI feels alive with notes + collections + real-time properties ⚡
Oops, built an AI database builder by letting AI access the plugin system. Just a test demo, but kinda wild where malleable software will take us.
the future of software is malleable 🧙 (demo plugin changing note-taking UI in real time)
🔮 customize your notes UI with plugins, vibe coding and hot reload!
"Collaborative text editing without CRDTs or OT" Awesome talk from @MatthewWeidner3 on how you don't need CRDTs to build collaborative text editing.
Saw this and kind of related to the tension we're trying to get right: how to offer real flexibility without it becoming overwhelming. The hard part is finding the right balance. On one end, you have the sandbox: an empty canvas with a box of dozens of odd-shaped tiny legos.…
on future of AI interfaces: future interfaces flow like water — meeting people how they actually think, not how we assume they should some of us think in bullet points, some in conversations, others need to see everything mapped out visually. the magic happens when the…
Notes in space & time (rewinding my Trips DB on a custom globe view plugin)

Got quite some questions about the tech behind the x.com/wcools/status/… feature, so for those interested, a quick high level technical overview: - Each interaction in the app which changes the workspace state is stored as a mutation event in a log (like event sourcing) -…
time travel, but for boards and database tables 🪄. thymemachine!
Another reason local-first with background sync is the future of collaboration ;)

Agree distribution is critical, but feature-wise you can also offer things they could never build, even with vastly more resources. For example, incumbents worth $billions in our market can't "just have 20 people add" features like E2EE, self-hosting, performance, privacy,…
Anything 1-2 people build, another startup can build, or any incumbent, even if it takes them 20 people. They 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 20 people. That’s why distribution is 10x more important than features.
