Just want to leave things better than I found it.
We'll look back at this time and realize no state was at all prepared for what's coming. I am pretty worried about how this will impact Utah. Tens of thousands of jobs in call centers , finance, back office etc that will be cannibalized. Then what? ksl.com/article/513501…
I don't know if I'd go quite this far but yes we definitely need to enforce rules a lot better on pet owners. Especially when it comes to safety concerns. In SL it's amazing how ineffective animal control is. Often times they only take action if you have a video of an attack etc.
We MUST enforce rules on dogs downtown, or else in In 40 years, we will look back on them the same way we look at cars: As a catastrophe for how it molded the urban environment by not pricing in the public costs of private items … driven by owners who refuse to follow rules
It's not talked about a ton but Midvale/Murray has a serious drug and crime problem along State St and 72nd etc. The fentanyl crisis is not just in SLC.
It's crazy how big YouTube is. How else would I watch videos on building stuff that I'll never build myself 😂
Want to learn more about this before I say too much. Have some mixed feelings as I think there are better places to do this.
Salt Lake City now has a sanctioned site for providing unsheltered homeless people with food, clothing and help applying for housing.
Seeing more price cuts and houses sitting on the market in the SL area. These high prices + high rates make it really tough to buy. Seems like the market has kinda stalled and home owners are still not getting the hint that their house isn't worth as much as they think anymore.
Sheesh the county is issuing $125 million in debt for their new to them HQ in Midvale. Allegedly will be offset from whatever they plan to do with their current HQ land.
Kinda disappointing this is not happening. We really do need to prioritize building mega projects cheaper in the US. It's too damn expensive to build anything and hurts our competitive edge.
California high-speed rail is a project that will never be built. 16 years, $15 billion, and zero tracks laid is no record to fundraise on. Thanks to this Administration, American taxpayers will not foot the bill for this billion-dollar boondoggle.
Something about driving around rural Utah listening to Johnny Cash. Sheesh. Love the west.
This is awesome. Love to see it.
From @AlixelCabrera: If not for Vanderheuf, he and 44 other inmates wouldn’t be running a half marathon in a prison yard at the Utah State Correctional Facility. He was the one to first pitch the idea to the Utah Department of Corrections. #utpol utahnewsdispatch.com/2025/07/21/it-…
