Possible the wildest match point ever… Daniil double faulting 3 times the final game was a killer & so were the 6 BP chances he missed in two previous service games in the set Tricky lefties outside the top 50 have certainly been his Achilles in 2025: Norrie, Tien, Moutet
Lucky Loser Corentin Moutet dethrones Daniil Medvedev 1-6 6-4 6-4 in a WILD match Interrupted by a lightning delay at 5-4 in the third. Medvedev hit 3 double faults to lose the final game Moutet wreaked havoc with his disruptive play style
Throwing metal bottles and racquets around is not safe. Medvedev deservedly gets booed as he walks off the stadium furious.
Medvedev does NOT like - Returning very slow 2nd serves - generating his own pace off low short slices - being forced to come to net on junk balls - getting rushed on 2nd serve returns - getting trapped in no man’s land/having to unexpectedly half volley Corentin Moutet ppl.
Those criticizing Emma for taking a medical timeout today in second set don’t know what it’s like to play in these horrible weather conditions for over two hours. It’s over 100 degrees (40 Celsius) and baking, not to mention the humidity. Absolute respect to all the players today
So many people would rather choose hate over help . Because hate takes no effort. But if you choose help, even when there are no guarantees, you will never regret it.
Not the 3 guys behind me yelling “come on Emma, do it for Carlos” on match point 💀
Emma Raducanu is ranked 46th in the world right now, but it’s clear she’s easily playing top 20 level tennis the last couple months or so. Elo rankings from @tennisabstract have her at #18 which feels pretty accurate on where she’s at. Her trajectory is looking very good again.
Emma Raducanu continues her love affair with @mubadalacitidc 6-4 6-2 vs Naomi Osaka 3rd time in a row she’s into the D.C. QF Fantastic serving today 68% 1st serves in 74% 1st serve pts won 11/18 2nd serve pts won Playing fast through the court & offensively with the forehand
TAYLOR FRITZ with the point of the tournament so far 🔥 Incredible speed, court coverage, and quick thinking 👀
Question to Naomi Osaka from @vanshv2k after 4-6 2-6 loss to Emma Raducanu Q: Obviously losses aren’t ever easy to deal with but I’m curious if a loss like today that’s more clear-cut is sometimes easier to accept in your mind versus losing 7-5 in the third with lots of chances?
Most impressive individual win for Leylah Fernandez since 2021 USO SF vs Sabalenka Very high level in the 3rd set and now Pegula has 2,950 points to defend in the next 3 tournaments
LEYLAH ANNIE FERNANDEZ knocks out the No. 1 seed Jess Pegula at the @mubadalacitidc 6-3 1-6 7-5 (0-2 down in the 3rd) Created lots of chances in Jess’ service games in the 3rd set after breaking back and redirected pace brilliantly on those hard flat shots in quick conditions.
Think we’ll just have to accept it’s pretty hard to imagine Stef ever hiring someone else and expecting them to help make an impact in his game, because of those overbearing helicopter parents. Getting involved in that mess sounds like the world’s biggest nightmare at this point.
🎾 Goran Ivanišević spoke to HRT on the split with #Tsitsipas: “We spoke yesterday, no hard feelings, we thanked each other. He decided to try again with his father, and honestly, I truly believe this – the only person who can coach him is his dad. He played his best tennis…

Medvedev made 2 major finals in a row on hard court (2023 U.S. Open and 2024 Aus Open) all with shoulder pain and serving well below his 2019-2021 level.
Daniil Medvedev clarified the timeline of his shoulder issues that he had for a full year in his mixed zone interview (uploaded in app) after the win over Yibing Wu in @mubadalacitidc Says the pain affected his serve, forehand, and general feeling on court. Q’s from @vanshv2k
Medvedev in on court interview when asked about his emphasis on serving well and if he’s been working on it: “Tbh there was one full season or actually 365 days where I was having so much pain in my shoulder. Now it’s much better for some time so I can keep working on it”
Daniil Medvedev dominates Yibing Wu 6-3 6-2 to advance to the quarterfinals of @mubadalacitidc Great serving and rally tolerance 28/30 1st serve pts won (11 aces) 4/13 BPs won The match point is a good example of Medvedev’s “can’t miss mode” consistency on the backhand
6 Mixed Zone Interviews (Audio) Uploaded in TennisONE App from Wednesday 7/23 at the @mubadalacitidc Medvedev after Opelka Win Fritz after Vukic Win De Minaur after Bu Win Sakkari after Navarro Win Mboko after Rybakina Loss Rybakina after Mboko Win
Sakkari gets her 1st Top 20 win on a hard court since 2024 Indian Wells SF vs Gauff Playing loose and free tennis again. At #90 in the world, she can only go up from here. The bouncy courts suiting that shoulder height strike zone on the forehand Will play QF on 30th birthday!
MARIA SAKKARI plays another awesome match at @mubadalacitidc Katie Boulter 2 days ago and now a great one today against the world no. 11 Emma Navarro 7-5 7-6(1) Loving the fast and high bouncing conditions. Big forehands shoulder height and imposing her physicality.
The amount of times Learner Tien was able to create width on his inside out lefty forehand and drag Rublev off the court before he found the backhand was impressive. He has superb ball control. Andrey was forced to hit many backhands & defend. Barely won 2nd serve points (9/28)…
LEARNER TIEN WITH ANOTHER VERY IMPRESSIVE WIN VS a TOP 10‼️ 7-5 6-2 vs #10 Andrey Rublev 👀 Saved 3 Set points at *4-5 in Set 1 Saved 3 crucial BPs at 3-2 *0-40 in Set 2 4-2 in career vs Top 10 (4-1 in 2025) Medvedev, Zverev, Rublev, Shelton. Clever angles, precision, poise.
Daniil Medvedev winning Citi Open and Toronto masters (when no one is talking about him) and reminding everyone why he was the best hard court player in the world at one point would be the most Daniil Medvedev thing ever.
