The official Twitter/X account for the @uttylersom Anesthesiology Residency Program. Sharing the latest memories made with #UTTylerAnesthesia
Two weeks ago we attended the 2025 @UTTylerSOM Research Day where a MS2, Michael, in conjunction with our faculty, presented a case about spinal anesthesia with a VP shunt. Look for us and our interesting cases and QI projects at upcoming @ASALifeline and @TSAPhysicians meetings!

Two weeks ago our very own Dr. Patel was a speaker at the UT Health East Texas Neuroscience Symposium. Dr. Patel educated attendees on anesthetic considerations for spine and neurosurgical patients!

Earlier this year, Drs. Bohannon & Catton, were recognized for their advocacy efforts by the @ASALifeline! Our program values involvement in health policy efforts across local, state, and national levels and we're proud to see these residents recognized for their efforts!

Recently, we welcomed our six new interns to the program with a program dinner at Dr. Warters’ home. Welcome, Class of 2029! We’re excited to have you as part of the @UTTylerSOM family!

Our newly-minted CA-1s continue their full-time work in the ORs, but we occasionally let them out to do cool things. Recently our APD, Dr. Patel, has led simulation sessions using @UTTylerSOM high-fidelity mannequins and simulation lab!

Recently our favorite group of gals shared an evening toasting to ambition, friendship, and fierce @WomenMDinAnesth. We’re so thankful for all they bring to our program and @UTTyler!

Last month our residents, Drs. Bohannon & Catton, assisted in a multi-agency mass casualty incident simulation. Our residents helped teach health professions students the basics of stabilizing trauma patients and airway management in a critically ill patient.

Last Thursday reps from GE made the trip to Tyler to teach our residents about the Aisys anesthesia machines used at our anesthetic locations. Residents learned about the inner workings of the machine, proper maintenance and setup, and how to troubleshoot errors and issues.

Our interns (soon-to-be CA-1s) made it through the first two weeks of bootcamp! During the final block of intern year, all of our residents are full-time in the operating rooms with our faculty for 1-on-1 preparation for the CA-1 year starting in July. Congrats, team!

Two weeks ago our resident, Dr. Bohannon, attended @ASALifeline #LegCon25 in Washington, D.C.! He and other #PhysicianAdvocates discussed important topics relevant to anesthesiology with congressional representatives and staff.

Over the weekend our program was represented at TexMed 2025 by Drs. Bohannon & Pivalizza in Texas’ House of Medicine! Learn more about how @TexMed advocates for physicians, medical students, and patients at texmed.org

Did you miss us? Sorry for the radio silence! Stayed tuned to our socials for updates on all we've been doing since #Match2025 - A few weeks ago our PD, Dr. Pivalizza, helped administer @ABAPhysicians examinations! Can you spot him in this ABA Week 1 photo?

IT'S A MATCH! Congratulations to our next cohort of @UTTylerSOM Anesthesiology residents. We're excited to welcome you to the @UTTyler family! #Match2025 #FutureAnesRes

It's #FlashbackFriday! Our inaugural residency class will soon be joined by a new cohort of @UTTylerSOM anesthesiology residents. Follow us as we count down to #Match2025 exactly four weeks from today! We're excited to welcome a new group of future anesthesiologists to @UTTyler!

That's a wrap on Physician Anesthesiologists Week 2025! Thanks, @GovAbbott, for your support of physician-led anesthesia care in Texas! We're proud to be the latest addition to the state's commitment to expanding anesthesia training opportunities for physicians. #PhysAnesWk25
