Hey @TaxpayersUnion, genuine question I'd be keen to hear a response on re: rates capping If rates increases are so bad, why can't we leave this to democratic process? If it is such an issue, then why is turnout at Local Elections so low? (below that of home ownership rates)

15 new one-bedroom homes are under construction on the corner of Birkenhead Ave and Zion Road. Located just a 3 minute walk from Frequent City and Crosstown bus routes (94, 95 and 97), and just a 5 minute walk up to the Birkenhead Town Centre. Awesome to see this underway!
Great to see a Cycleway and improved bus lanes proposed for Albert Street. But the best move for bus priority would be to make the right turn from Pitt, into Vincent, Bus Only, and sending more traffic around Houptoun and off Karangahape haveyoursay.at.govt.nz/vincent-street…

By "original promise", I'm referring to the fact that Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland was originally founded on 10,000 acres of prime land that was given by local Māori to the British Crown / colonial government for the purposes of establishing a city. Auckland is literally a gift.
