YOUR FAVOURITE IRISH COURSE - SEMI FINAL 1 Lahinch upset the rankings to beat Portmarnock in the quarter final, can it take down the number 1 seed? Which is your favourite course?
Ok, a few polls here to see if we can crown my twitter followers’ favourite Irish Course. 8 seeds. I’ve used the @TheTodaysGolfer rankings to seed them 1. Royal County Down 2. Royal Portrush 3. Ballybunion 4. Portmarnock 5. Lahinch 6. St Patrick’s Links 7. Waterville 8. Adare…

We’re going to go to Moray Old (Lossie to its friends) next year too. It doesn’t get tons of social media attention but I guarantee you’ll enjoy it. Proper Scottish golf. Here’s a picture from last time I was there. Feel free to bring your dog!

Scotland doesn’t have a massive tradition of halfway houses but the one at Nairn is pretty special. It’s a converted bothy with a good selection of local whisky, hot rolls and treats. The drinks will be on me next June if you’re on my trip! What’s your favourite halfway house?…

Just how good is @RoyalDornochGC ? Well, the US GOLF Magazine has it ranked at number 10 in the world - above the likes of Muirfield, Turnberry and Pebble Beach. Tom Doak explained to me why he thinks that is - 'The more I've thought about it over the years, I have come to the…
More on my trip to the Highlands next June. Day 2 will bring 36 holes at Golspie and Brora. It would be a mistake to visit the area and not play these two crackers. NB - local cattle unlikely to be on the course at Brora next year. Which is a shame for the souvenir photographs!

In spring 2021 I was looking for something to do. My job was coming to an end and I wasn't quite sure what the future held. I bought a drone and for more days than I care to remember I got up at 4:30am to film the West Links at @NorthBerwick_GC. It helped clear my mind! You…
I’m off to the Highlands next June for a week of wonderful golf. First stop will be Fortrose & Rosemarkie - a course overlooked by far too many when they head north. It has a gorgeous setting, a lovely variety in holes and won’t beat anyone up. A perfect first round venue!

We finished up a great week in Iceland at the stunning Brautarholt. The no 1 in Iceland currently has 12 holes but soon to be 18. Iceland may not be the most obvious place for a golf trip but when you combine it with some great sightseeing it makes for a wonderful place to…

It was a bit wet and cloudy at Kiðjabergs but a spectacular setting for some nice Icelandic golf. It’s like an AI version of Scottish golf at times!!
