This week I’ve been with dozens of @UHManoa faculty and staff learning about Native Hawaiian culture and values. On Tuesday, we visited Ka Papa Loʻi ʻo Kānewai to work in the loʻi kalo (taro patch) and learn about ʻāina (land), moʻolelo (stories), and ʻauwai (irrigation system).
A powerful reminder of the importance of place-based learning and how water, land, and story are deeply connected. Grateful for the chance to learn with others in a special space and to experience how ʻāina continues to teach and bring people together.
