Controversial takes like 'climate change and invading sovereign neighbours is bad,' and 'affordable housing and human rights are good.'
Good to see there's finally some sober analysis to question the recent pipeline fervor. Yes, 3 in 4 Canadians really can be wrong. Building pipelines now may be good politics, but would be terrible policy. The ROI wasn't there 10 years ago, and it certainly isn't there now.

Indeed.
This is why this website is a cancer. No one knows how to look up real data, they just parrot misinformation bullshit now. This is what StatsCan actually reports: www150.statcan.gc.ca/t1/tbl1/en/tv.… Zero net growth of NPRs in the last six months.
Not sure how many people realize that battery storage already supplies 30% of California’s electricity demand at peak. Batteries aren’t the future — they’re here now.
Shakespeare invented many of the words that we use today.
Number of judicial recounts in Canadian federal elections, by year:
Bruce Fanjoy should never have to buy his own beer anywhere in Canada, every again.
This feels like a bombshell 3 days before the election. Or at least it should be.

Change in GDP/capita by province since Harper got elected. StatCan doesn't have 2024 data yet. Can you spot the "lost economic decade" on this chart?
Why is the CPC's "lost economic decade" message not connecting? Because most of Canada did not see a lost decade. BC & QC saw moderately strong growth, Ontario bit less but still up. Using national numbers masks the large differences by province (h/t @kevinmilligan for chart)
I regret to inform you, but in the future 1) Wearing shoes in your home 2) Not using a bidet 3) Eating meat will all be considered barbaric practices. I cannot always practice what I preach, but alas, this is the objective truth.
A problem with nuclear is that it takes so long (decades) to get a plant completed, that by the time it’s finally making energy, that energy must be priced high enough to make up for all the interest that would have accrued on that capital had the investor put it in something…
Ross Douthat is the airline food of American media. At best, just barely tolerable if you only have to experience it a few times a year and you would question the judgement of anyone praising it.
what a classic VC move to buy Trump at the peak
