Today I was rewatching client edits from just 9 months ago, and they were so shit!! I couldn't believe how much I had improved in less than a year. If you don't feel similar, no matter your skill level then you need to start upping your game bro, or you will get left behind.

Intrusive thoughts would start popping in for sure

I do not have any clients that I dislike editing for, I used to but not anymore. I love the videos I edit and it shows! This doesn't mean working insane hours and getting underpaid, but knowing what the target audience wants to see and delivering it!

This video that I helped my great client and buddy @notghostgum with last month has hit 1 million views, lovely stuff!! I managed to connect with Ghost Gum via a cold email years ago telling him how much I loved his videos. We've both come a long way since!

A little animation I done today. And a little piece of advice, raise your prices! The average video editor is leaving so much money on the table. Never once has a client rejected me when I raised my prices, in fact they didn't give a shit and I should have asked for even more.
A little outro I did for my amazing client @willaustin4 who was my first client and gave me a chance back when I was starting out and admittedly was NOT a good editor at all. This is just a little goofy updated outro for the video promoting sign ups to Patreon and YT membership!
First payment of the month is in. Been a very slow start but I definitely think we will still hit the 拢2000 goal, so 拢1725 to go. I am obviously way behind target for the first week, but this happens sometimes, I will bounce back!!

Just moved into a new apartment. Was staying with my parents for a few months and honestly it's too comfortable. Now I have to pay rent and bills again I instantly work harder. Fyodor Dostoevsky used to gamble away all his money to make him hungry to write, I feel similar.

After a slow start to the week things are really starting to get busy. I got an insight recently which helped me a lot: See yourself as running an editing business, not as a "freelancer", but business owner, it's a mindset shift that for some reason, makes me more successful.

Recently I landed a very big client, Humphrey Yang! Great finance Youtuber with 1.7 mil subs. When doing the first video I noticed I kind of struggled with doing effective title cards, so I have been practising just that. Nothing crazy just clean and simple! :)
Its been a quiet start to this week, currently just waiting for 4 client videos to be sent through so I can begin the editing process! Patience in these times is key, its simply the calm before the storm! In the meantime, here's a simple but tranquil Chad animation I did.
Going to start documenting my editing on here as a way to hold myself more accountable and to engage with other editors! Every day I will post about my journey video editing for creators, as it's currently the 2nd of June and my first post, this months goal is a very modest 拢2k!

Some animations from a recent edit in the Finance/Investing niche, so very mature audience, not need for anything too extravagant. Just clean and simple.
Travelling across the East at the moment! Absolutely beautiful, sooo much better than the West! The location freedom of video editing is one of its biggest advantages!
