I brought my friend Jack storm chasing all the way from the UK to South Dakota on June 28. One of the things he wanted to do was capture a tornado on VHS, and so of course we get on the tornado of the century the next week. Check it out!

Received some amazing news today that the victims in the Gary SD tornado that @BrandonCopicWx, @tornadotrx and myself helped are recovering and Dominick is out of surgery for his ankle/leg and both are expected to make a full recovery. Truly amazing considering their basement was…

– Damage Survey Update – The “drill bit” tornado that impacted the Gary, South Dakota area on June 28, 2025, has been preliminarily rated EF3, with peak winds estimated between 136–165 mph. According to the Public Information Statement, the EF3 rating remains under review, ⤵️

There's a lot of bad news in the NOAA budget release, and yes there are going to be negotiations over the next few months. But what's baffling to me is the complete elimination of the OAR labs, especially NSSL. Like, no one in Oklahoma is going to stop that from happening?
