WIMBLEDON: An old guy's opinion for what it's worth. The immediate pre-Wimbledon events should have Friday finals. Every year players are going to get caught with one day between tournaments. Especially tough if the events - Bad Homburg and Mallorca - are outside GB. Just IMHO.

In case you missed it - a tennis voyage in time - back to Wimbledon 1975 - a 30-minute collage of sounds.
50 YEARS AGO Sad that two major English outlets preferred not to air "Wimbledon 1975 - a Sound Portrait” during this year's event. It includes champions Ashe and BJK, a varied cast of characters - tournament officials, spectators etc. and BBC Radio of the Finals. Milos Raonic…

WIMBLEDON 2025 The racquet in the side pocket of Djokovic's bag is the Head Vilas. Used by Argentine Guillermo Vilas, now 72, who won two Australian Opens (1978-79), Roland Garros (1977) and a US Open (1977). Not in the best health at the moment - this may be a tribute to Vilas.

S L Price Wim 03 Fed wins "Champ L Hewitt lost in round 1 & underachiever Mark Philippoussis dumped No. 1 Andre Agassi. With Grand Slam pedigree players wiped out before the 8s, it was clear tennis had hit a chronological seam, a gap between eras when everything is up for grabs."

WIMBLEDON QUALIFYING: 3R #137 Patricia Hon, 27, (AUS) def #96 Victoria Mboko 4-6, 7-6(4), 6-1. PH saved five MPs at 5-6 in the 2nd set - and she played remarkably well on all of them. Very windy conditions were a great equalizer. With her ranking, VM still chance as lucky loser.

ATP 250: MAJORCA Draw #27 (2)Felix Auger-Aliassime bye #80 Arthur Rinderknech or TBA #44 Gabriel Diallo v #59 Jaume Munar H2H: GD 1-0. '24 US Open 6-4, 3-6, 6-3, 7-5. WTA 250: BAD HOMBURG: SUNDAY am ET #30 Leylah Fernandez v #43 Tatjana Maria H2H TM: 1-0. '25 Queen's 7-6(4), 6-2

ATP 500s - Queen's and Halle. Hearing from several fans that they are upset TSN is showing Halle not Queen's. Maybe while FAA and Denis were still in Halle, but Queen's is a superior event with no shadows on the court. It seems TSN used to show both - not sure why no longer.😠
