Introducing Muscle v0 -- infinite degrees of freedom, from @DaxoRobotics. A different mountain to climb - with a far more beautiful peak. We built this from the ground up: - Ultra-dexterous - Built for machine learning - Durable and robust More below (1/n)
We at @DaxoRobotics found a new (and better) way to build towards true robot dexterity. This dexterous robotic hand is something I’ve been working on since graduating from @GRASPlab. Below is just a teaser. Enjoy the spin. The full story drops tomorrow.
"The world is designed for humans so robots shaped like humans should win." Agree with the first half. But "shape" is a necessary yet insufficient condition. "Human" also means our intelligence, dynamics, compliance, sensing, inertia, etc. Shape is just one limited aspect.
Daxo Robotics announced Muscle v0, a soft robotic hand with infinite degrees of freedom Built with ultra-redundant muscle arrays, the hand uses the fundamental principles of human muscle control, including compliance, redundancy, and proprioception.
If you understand the scream of pain from a roboticist Now that I’m doing this X thing, I realize I’ve been sitting on a treasure chest of old robotics footage Here’s one from 2022 — raw, painful, and kind of beautiful
For those who hate the looks of our fingers, they used to look like this

I'm on the job market. I’ll earn my PhD from @Penn @picslupenn @GRASPlab this summer. Experienced in multi-modal LLM, vision-language models, computer vision, and AI in healthcare. And I am open to all sorts of fun stuff! Homepage: yifannnwu.com
