Which people? Naked statues in museums like you’ve mentioned can be seen as objectifying and voyeuristic (whether we like to accept or not), it’s reducing the human form to mere physicality. They really don’t serve a very “meaningful” artistic purpose. Quote me anywhere
People love naked statues in museums but hate nudity in modern art. Maybe the problem isn’t the art, it’s how we choose to judge it.
