The relationships in your life shape and influence your ability to grow in wisdom, but there’s no relationship more important in shaping that than your relationship with Christ. If you want to be wise, you must walk with Him. @ErikReed

If you pursue Christ, holiness, and obedience to His Word, you will exhibit the fruits of the Spirit — self control being one of them. You can’t staple fruits to a tree and you can’t muster up self-control in the words you think and say without walking by the Spirit. @ErikReed

Do you govern your passions properly or do they rule you? A rightful governing of your passions is to order them towards things that honor God. @ErikReed

Your mouth is a heart monitor. Your words showcase your heart. Our words are a direct reflection of our inner character. @ErikReed

Wisdom can’t be gained in isolation. You have to surround yourself with the right kind of people to grow. @ErikReed

It’s no secret that we are influenced by those around us, but our absorption of foolishness or wisdom goes further than that. It’s in the things we watch and listen to. @ErikReed

Lady Folly can cause you to look any credibility that you’ve built up in a single moment of foolishness. This is why we need to stand on guard and seek the voice of Lady Wisdom in all that we do. @ErikReed

How do you know if you’re effectively guarding your heart and mind? Look at your words and deeds. Make sure you are inclined to wisdom through the things you consume through your eyes and ears, and see how that pours out of your actions.

The voices of Lady Wisdom and Lady Folly both cry out to us. Much like having to two navigation systems in your car, the one you follow will determine where you end up. The question is which voice will you embrace? @ErikReed

Does the Church actually fear God the way we ought to? The way it seems is that the Church trifles with God instead of revering the Living God. @ErikReed

Fear of the Lord is not mere terror. A proper fear of the Lord is a reverence and awe of God and as you seek to gain wisdom, it begins with this fear of the Lord. Proverbs 9:10 @ErikReed

Happy Father’s Day to the dads who honor Christ with their service to, discipleship of, and love for their families. You lead well, you love well, and you anchor yourself to biblical truth. That’s evident not only in your homes, but in our church too. 🩵

An unbiblical theology of heaven affects how Christians view all aspects of earthly life. Heaven won’t be an escape from earth, so value things like the work you do and the art you create now because there will be a continuity of these things. @ErikReed
