this is why ffxvi was so negatively criticised. people are so fixated on final fantasy being turn based that they forget to drop their judgement and immediately slated xvis style of combat and just the game as a whole. diversity is ff’s identity and to condemn this is hypocrisy
the essence of final fantasy as a franchise does not lie in turn based. it is okay for the newer modern ff’s to shift to a more atb style of combat. you cant disregard the newer ff’s with the excuse that ‘if its not turn based its not final fantasy.’ when has the franchise ever
