Brian Riley
@thebrianriley
Founder / CEO @guardianbikes. Building a massive highly automated bicycle factory in the mid west.
I had the opportunity to do Senate testimony about re-shoring manufacturing. I explained the whole history of @guardianbikes and why we took a bet and started our own factory in the US. Manufacturing in America isn't theoretical. It is achievable, sustainable, and necessary.…
Thanks @pinpulleddrmf !
My favorite placement has been putting a Marine Corps supply chain guru in the only manufacturer of bikes in the USA. @thebrianriley makes the best bikes in the world over at @guardianbikes. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
If you’re doing anything to Reindustrialize America, think 10x bigger. This is a multi trillion dollar opportunity and we are in the first inning.
You cannot have a great civilization without the ability to make things. That ability—manufacturing—is the foundation of power. @2112Power of @HadrianInc in @TheFP on reindustralizing America: thefp.com/p/america-wont…
My Reindustrialize conference take away: domestic manufacturing is having its moment, which is great. Been waiting for this moment for 15 years. But everyone is too focused on defense manufacturing - which is important - but we need consumer products manufactured in the United…
It's almost like the economics profession doesn't fully understand tariffs
PPI in June came in lower than all 50 forecasters in Bloomberg’s survey predicted.
Fired up!!!! Great opening speech at @reindsummit from @2112Power

1/ Excited to share my case for reshoring from first principles as part of @newindustrials Blueprints for Reindustrialization series. We’re going to make it in America 🇺🇸
The #1 thing you should look for in an investor is conviction.
Let’s go!
In collaboration with @reindsummit and @newindustrials, we are releasing a request for startups motivated by a simple belief: America needs better physical technology, and startups are the best way to build and scale it. We are looking for founders interested in applying modern…
Everyone chill out. Codify tariffs into the tax bill for revenue and reshoring, take out wasteful pork spending, and let’s close the damn deficit and remain the shining city on the hill 🇺🇸
Interesting way to reframe the analogous conclusion that manufacturing companies are less capital efficient than software companies
At IPO, Proto Labs (a Manufacturing-as-a-Service business) generated $1.28 in incremental gross profit for every $1 spent on sales & marketing. That’s 3.7x more efficient than Snowflake at $0.35. Manufacturing is capital-efficient — it just routes capital through CapEx instead…
reindustrialization is the critical path to accelerate GDP growth
I have come to the perhaps obvious conclusion that accelerating GDP growth is essential. @DOGE has and will do great work to postpone the day of bankruptcy of America, but the profligacy of government means that only radical improvements in productivity can save our country.
Last week @thebrianriley @guardianbikes delivered powerful testimony to Congress on why they are reshoring bike manufacturing. We wrote it up at the @KeepitMadeinUSA blog. americanmanufacturing.org/blog/what-woul…
Commissioning another progressive die at the @guardianbikes factory in Indiana. 300 tons just feels so gentle
Thanks for coming by 👊
Thanks @thebrianriley for the tour! You were a gracious and welcoming host. I had a great time learning about how @guardianbikes balances automation with human labor and how dedicated everyone at your company is about making American-made bikes. Keep up the great work!
