Good to meet with representatives of @the3million and @BritishInEurope ahead of today’s meeting of the Specialised Committee on Citizen’s Rights. Protecting the rights of EU citizens in the UK and of UK nationals in the EU remains a shared priority under the Withdrawal Agreement.
"Pregnancy is tough, and the added stress made it much worse" - Yasin would have been left homeless within a matter of weeks without our support with her eVisa. Issues are rife, leaving people with no way of proving their immigration status: computerweekly.com/news/366625359…
This article is about Júlia, my daughter. She's stuck in visa limbo in the UK, due to a mistake by @ucl and the Home Office's slowness, incompetence & arrogance. 7 months unable to work or leave the UK. Hope visibility here pushes the HO to take action.
Júlia followed every rule, but the UK’s immigration system trapped her in bureaucratic limbo for 7 months. Now, she faces being forced to leave. This is the reality of an immigration system that isn’t working. We can do better. Read her full story: the3million.org.uk/julia-story

I just had to prove my UK immigration status at the airport for the first time (heading home from SF), using the digital-only system. The people at the check-in desk and I were taken aback by how unintuitive and cumbersome this process is. Physical proof is sorely needed!
Thank you @PeteWishart for launching the Early Day Motion urging Government to launch an independent review of the digital-only immigration status & eVisas system & consider much needed alternatives! We appreciate you listening to the voices of EU citizens & all other migrants
