Does viscoelastic confinement physically alter cell proliferation? Sree @padmanabh97 & @Mridul_Gautam01, along with @bagade_nikita18 & Sunil Laxman, discovered a 3D confinement-driven cell cycle regulation in budding yeast. (1/9) @NCBS_Bangalore @ESoftbio tinyurl.com/esoftbio20252

Last paper from the Postdoc is now out in Macromolecules! In it, we explore how changes in the crosslinking density effect the elasticity and interstitial pore structure of concentrated microgel packings. pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ac…
Excited to release our latest work, led by PhD student Emily Chen: arxiv.org/abs/2504.02951! Here, we uncover how the unique rheological properties of wormlike micelles (WLM) influences their flow behavior in tortuous serpentine channels. 🪱💧🌪️ Tweetorial follows... [1/7]
Animals at many length scales move through undulation. In a new paper, Chris Pierce and the Goldman Lab use the nematode 🪱 C. elegans to show how interactions with the environment cause undulating body movements to become desynchronized to the phase of muscle contractions.
Mark your calendars!! 🗓️ The second Young Biophysicists Meeting will be held on the coming Monday (April 7th) from 11am - 12pm EST. We have three exciting talks lined up for you, see you all soon! Find out more : shorturl.at/4oKNe
First pre-print from our group @NCBS_Bangalore, jointly led by @Wandering_Vidha @siddharthkls is online today. We report on how fungal pathogen adapts to evolutionarily divergent plant lineages and provide insights on fungal adaptation. Link 👇 #EvoMPMI #fungalpathogens 🍄🌱💚
Transcriptional plasticity of fast core chromosomes governs establishment of a fungal pathogen on evolutionarily distant plant lineages biorxiv.org/content/10.110… #biorxiv_plants
Excited to release our latest work led by Anna Hancock: doi.org/10.1101/2025.0… Here, we show that when a bacterial population is exposed to antibiotic, death sweeps through it as a sharp front—with dynamics controlled by a "nutrient bottleneck". 🦠☠️ Tweetorial follows! [1/8]
Our work is now out in PRL (doi.org/10.1103/PhysRe…) @howyouliu @PhysRevLett @apsfluiddynamic @ApsDsoft @YaleEngineering @Yale
Our lab's very first paper is now on arXiv! This started as a "side project" when @howyouliu started his PhD! We learned a lot in the process and were finally able to explain how a colloidal vortex can form in low Re number flows due to solute gradients! arxiv.org/abs/2409.01594
