I'm the author of the novels Leave Society and Taipei and Eeeee Eee Eeee, the memoir Trip, and six other books. I'm working on more books.
Read my ~8000-word essay "My Spiritual Evolution" at @GrantaMag. It took ten months to write, working on it on and off. It's about becoming increasingly convinced that we are souls which death will release back into the spirit world, our real home, our base reality.

AI is limited by not having a soul. Without a soul, AI lacks psychic abilities—telepathy, precognition, etc.
I’m not into doing things ASAP. I prefer to do things WIRT—when I’m ready to.
I don't get along with people who project a lot. They think everyone thinks just like they think. They misread what you write. They ignore what you say and insert what they think.
Last month, we caught up with "Taipei" author Tao Lin for a wide-ranging conversation about friendship, masturbation, Asian stereotypes, and Western medicine. interviewmagazine.com/literature/tao…
Anyone know where in this I get asked about reincarnation, trying to find. patreon.com/posts/crazy-au…
I'm in my doctor's private social network, arguing with people about calcium.
I like physical books. I have trouble reading longer-form writing online, because I work on the computer and when I'm not working I don't feel like spending more time on the computer.
The latest episode of the Granta Podcast is available now, featuring Tao Lin (@tao_lin). We discuss two of his recent essays, as well as the effects of psychedelics and the possibilities of reincarnation. Here he reads from ‘My Spiritual Evolution’. granta.com/podcast-tao-li…
I believe anyone can change. All the time, people turn against their group, abandon their old selves, discover and admit they were wrong in whatever way, gradually drift into diametrically opposed perspectives. It can happen to anyone. I love when it does.
