Why do disagreements among Christians so easily turn toxic? And can the Christian tradition itself offer a way forward? 'Loving Disagreement' is published... TODAY! £10 launch price with free delivery: equippingthechurch.com/product/loving…

Have written a piece reflecting on the CofE saying goodbye to 'Issues in Human Sexuality', and associated appeals to the value of 'due process'.
The Synod’s decision to remove any reference to this ‘Issues’ document within the official vocations process does not, however, herald a theological free-for-all, says Rev Dr Christopher Landau premierchristianity.com/opinion/have-c… @talkChristianly
Does the Synod understand its own power, or notice when it is unable to exercise it? This seemingly anodyne presentation surely demonstrates that Synod itself has been denied a meaningful role, in relation to controversial liturgical change which threatens to split our church.
Listen to these 20 seconds at Synod. They describe the process of liturgical revision, which apparently gives Synod members "a full and equal voice in shaping the church's worship". Incredibly, this doesn't apply to the 'Prayers of Love and Faith'! youtube.com/live/lLfOZGJjY…
This is the Herefordshire village church where, for a few years, I was a teenage organist. (This may partly explain why I am passionate about the renewal and future of 'little, local, ordinary' churches!).
Goodrich.
This is a desperately sad read in the New Statesman. One particular sentence stays with me: "I cannot accept that I will not see him again." If the 'Quiet Revival' means anything, it will surely mean a significant recovery of the hope of eternal life, among those who grieve.

"Maybe we’re still weird, but Christian weirdness is more accepted because there are all sorts of other weird practices and beliefs that are permitted in our ‘you do you’ culture. Maybe, more positively, it’s simply a move of God. Whatever it is, we can’t be complacent."
Wait... are Christians cool now? My latest for @Christianitymag *Hides* premierchristianity.com/columnists/wai…
"How do we contend for truth while displaying the fruit of the Spirit?" A good question, part of a fascinating obituary of an influential cessationist. premierchristianity.com/obituaries/joh…
Imagine a church, so delicately balanced theologically, that it creates a form of government that prioritises unity over speed. Then imagine a church ignoring those safeguards, just as the most controversial new prayers in a generation are being proposed. That's where we are.
