It's not a contradiction to be socially liberal but economically conservative. Travel, cars, watches, urbanism and poking fun at the COVID zero brigade.
"Age pensioners generally maintain or grow their assets in the five years prior to death." This is just unbelievable and incredibly unfair. afr.com/politics/feder…

That low and middle income workers are subsidizing the lifestyles of comfortably well off retirees should really not come as a surprise anymore… In many cases the pension is being used to preserve an inheritance rather than fund retirements
Hard no.
What we should do is mandate masks in public places including transport. On every flight I’ve had recently between Brisbane & Melbourne there’s been someone coughing continuously. On a recent flight there was a man continually sniffing. He was sweaty & didn’t look well.
Why is Australia on this list of countries with undeserved bad reputatations alongside South Africa, Mexico and India? Are overseas tourists really that worried about creatures that might kill you in one of the most urbanised countries on earth? smh.com.au/traveller/insp…

Please, please, please think before you post. We have vaccines against influenza A and, no, nothing is out of control. And no we shouldn't go back into lockdown
Only around 30% of Australians have had their flu vax, which is what’s contributed to this. Also, the quadrivalent flu vaccine does protect against 2 different influenza A strains
Except that there is little to no evidence that any of these measures make much if any difference to the transmission of respiratory diseases.
Not really. Clean the air, mask up, be sensible. The tools are there and we should know by now. Yeah I know....I can dream 🙃.
"Short sharp intervention (ie. lockdown) including airports by more countries than Australia". In July 2025, everybody. Can't make this stuff up! 😂
Personally I wouldn’t mind, a short sharp intervention including airports by more countries than Australia might tone down the ongoing development of the variants becoming more and more infectious.
My hot take: kids should not travel in business class until they are 18. What on earth have you got to look forward to if you've already taken 150 business class flights by the time you're nine? theaustralian.com.au/travel/complex…

I've always thought that New Zealand is a subscale country, but given that Australia's GDP per capita is a third higher than NZ's, wouldn't we just be providing a net subsidy across the Tasman?
If New Zealand took the option to join the Australian Federation then the number of people leaving "the country" would plummet substantially and many problems would be solved. New ones would be created, but.
As if any self respecting Aussie would knowingly buy imported American beef.
Imagine not only holding this freak show convention but posting it on an open social media so everybody can see what neurotics you are.
Our Clean Air Event was a huge success! Recording below. The takeaway? Breathing clean air is a necessity, and we can use simple tools to provide layered protection from airborne hazards, ranging from COVlD to wildfire smoke. #MaskTogetherColorado #MaskTogetherAmerica 😷 ❤️
Do you print your flight itinerary and hotel/rental car confirmations? Although I don't print much generally, maybe I'm old school, but I always travel with printouts of all my confirmations in case I'm asked for them (which I have been) and don't want to hand over my phone.
If my pp was smol I simply wouldn't get a custom plate about it.
TIL Harry Seidler hated the QVB and wanted it knocked down
Tragic. Could have been a beautiful carpark.
