July 13, 1898, while returning from a two-alarm fire at Zett's Brewery at the corner of Court and Lodi streets, FF Frank Yann was thrown from Hook and Ladder No. 2. He passed from his injuries 127 years ago today, on July 15, 1898. #syracusefire

66 years ago, we lost Firefighter Enrico Vendetti of Engine 6 and Lt. Robert McCarthy of Engine 7 in the line of duty. Their engines collided while responding to a fire at 608 S. Townsend St. #SyracuseFire

On this day 36 years ago, Captain Norman Rowe died in the line of duty. Captain Rowe of Truck 2 died of a heart attack while operating a structure fire at 1412 N Salina Street. #syracusefire

At 2:39 PM today, crews responded to a fire at 1011 Milton Ave. Firefighters arrived in 3 mins, quickly bringing the blaze under control. Thankfully, no injuries reported! 6 residents displaced, assisted by the Red Cross. Cause: electrical malfunction.

On this day 102 years ago, FF Thomas Carrigan died in the line of duty. Firefighter Carrigan was assigned to Truck 3. They were operating on the roof of Thatcher Process Company Inc. on Tracy Street when he came in contact with a high-voltage line and died. #syracusefire
