This week @teodoramit presented her idea of human-in-the-loop AI-based co-creation of images using implicit user input form EEB-based Event-Related Potentials. Her approach allows for convenience by simply looking at images. @mimuc

Matthias Schmidmaier presented his work on Empathic AI and how to support users. With his PETS scale (…eived-empathy-of-technology-scale.com), he now investigates how to improve the empathy of LLM-based conversational agents by understanding and proactively reacting to the user states. @mimuc

The LMU media informatics doctoral colloquium comes to an end with lots of inspirations and new ideas to go forward! Thanks to DFKI for hosting us. Discussing in depth with our researchers always makes me optimistic about the future - with regard to science and society :) @mimuc
Dr. Florian Bemmann is off to new endeavors in research. Connecting communication science and human-computer interaction to foster social impact in a world where trust in general information, news, and journalism might be at its lowest in years. @mimuc

Today Khanh Huynh presented her vision of her PhD – a Multimodal LLM-bases conversational passenger that understand the driver and can support driving and non-driving relates activities in the car. I’m looking forward to see where her vision takes her in the next 3 years. @mimuc

Kathrin Schnizer sharing her first experiment designs for combining gaze and EEG to predict understanding of visualizations as part of the DFG @SfbTrr161 - interesting discussions on what is the minimal valid experiment and how ML allows us to move beyond P300 … @mimuc
Antonio Krüger’s Keynote „Towards Environmental-Aware and Trustworthy AI“ at our doctoral colloquium we do in Saarbrücken at &DFKI (German research center for AI). Seeing research at DFKI is amazing. Interesting aspect of trust - of humans in AI but also between machines @mimuc
How is AI changing the IT industry? Join for a discussion at Netlight in Munich - 17:00 at Prannerstraße 4, München. What will happen to IT jobs, tools, business models? What skills will be most valuable? @fionadraxler @svenmayerhci @mimuc @Fiona Draxler netlight-ab.confetti.events/lmuxnetlight
@svenmayerhci delivered a great tutorial on statistics for HCI… from basics to linear mixed models and Bayesian statistics - he also had very practical recipes. The decision tree for what stats to do by Valentin Schwind is really helpful (hci-studies.org)!
Thomas Weber is broadening our view on building AI systems on local infrastructures and about how we design architectures and implementation approaches. @mimuc
Thomas Kosch is talking about the use of AI in scientific research and how this impacts scientific integrity following up discussion on the use of GenAI in writings and reviewing… as part of the seminar of the @SFB-TRR161 @thomas_kosch @mimuc @SfbTrr161
