The 2024 Projections Series Primer at @birdsontheblack - I've made major upgrades to my system for the first time in YEARS. I'm excited about this year's projections, folks! Go crazy (looking at this). birdsontheblack.com/post/2024-proj…
Another home run by Burleson when the game is already out of hand one way or the other.
Didn't fact check Doug's work here looking things up, but dang.

Holy f---
Cardinals SP’s K/9: Sonny Gray: 9.9 *significant gap* Matthew Liberatore: 7.2 Miles Mikolas: 6.4 Andre Pallante: 5.7 Michael McGreevy: 5.4 Erick Fedde: 5.3
23 QBs have started 3+ playoff games where their defense gave them zero takeaways. 22 of those 23 QBs are a combined 33-72 in those games. One of them is 5-1.
Patrick Mahomes has 5 playoff wins where his defense forced ZERO turnovers — the most in NFL history by a QB. 😤🔥 (Brady & Brees are tied for 2nd with 4.) So the next time someone says Mahomes has been “carried by his defense”… Just know they don’t know ball. 🎯
Drafting players w/ elite swing decisions has been a theme so far for the Cardinals: Jack Gurevitch (3): 77.8% zSwing%, 24.8% oSwing% Matthew Miura (6): 63.3% zSwing%, 12.0% oSwing% Ryan Weingartner (8): 70.4% zSwing%, 15.0% oSwing%
Tanner Franklin busting out a 99 after hitting 102, because, you know, baseball and throwing and pitching is easy like that
3. 97: RHP Tanner Franklin, Texas I love the fastball here. 6-5 frame, 240 at 20 years old. 40 SO and just 5 BB in 27.2 IP this season. Might be a pure reliever but I love the late inning upside if so.
Tanner Franklin up to 101.7 today down in Houston! Was excellent on the Cape this summer and has been untouchable this spring. Drop/drive delivery, high-ride FB is legit bat-misser. Pairs w/effective cutter that flashes late glove-side life.
TANNER FRANKLIN IS UP TO 101.2 SITTING 96 WITH 18” IVB FROM A LOW RELEASE
Tanner Franklin has one of the most electric fastballs in the draft. It averages 96 MPH (T101.2) w/ 18" IVB from a 5.6' vertical release height. He induced a 33.7% whiff rate on the pitch this year.
The #STLCards went back to @Vol_Baseball for the No. 72 pick (Competitive Balance B) , selecting 6-5, 225-pound RHP Tanner Franklin. The 21-year-old Franklin -- who projects as a two-pitch reliever -- has a fastball that usually sits between 94-98 mph and topped out at 102 mph.
#Cardinals CBB-72: Tanner Franklin, RHP, Tennessee -- mass upside reliever, upper 90s FB/SK touches 102 w/ good life making it 70/80 weapon, pwr CUT/SL gives him second offering, size/arm strength to see upside outcomes though relief is likely future w/ limited control
Tanner Franklin joins Liam Doyle in St. Louis 🤝 The Cardinals take the righthander at No. 72 in the 2025 MLB Draft. The @Vol_Baseball arms offer fastballs with plus velocity 🔥
