The generation of Israel that saw the 10 plagues, came through the Red Sea, saw God provide manna, quail, and water, and experienced God's miraculous protection, didn't have the faith to take God at His Word concerning the Promised Land and missed out. We have to live by faith.
Fear hinders us from living by faith. Living by faith should be a normal part or the Christian life; but because it is so contrary to our flesh which wants to live by sight exclusively.
While Lot's family was falling apart, "... Abraham gat up early in the morning to the place where he stood before the LORD:" - Gen.19:27 Are we a praying people? Do we have a "place"?
Prayer is a gift from God. And when you pray for others or others pray for you it is a gift.
I can't wait for the reunion day that will come for God's people. 1Thessalonians 4:14 "For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him." I don't think it will be long from now. We should expect it today!
My salvation is rooted in the Scriptures. 1 Corinthians 5:"3 ... Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:"
Life has meaning when we live for the One Who loved us enough to die for us.
In condemning us all by the sin of one - Adam, God was establishing the principle that He would rescue us all by the righteousness of One - Jesus Christ. Rom.5:19 "For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous."
God's Word does not become true when we believe it. It was true before we realized it to believe. If Satan can get us to question the Word of God, he can get us to miss out on what God has for us.
Yes, we can pray anywhere. But it is so important to have a place. "And Abraham gat up early in the morning to THE PLACE where he stood before the Lord:" Where is your place?
Genesis 19:27-28 - While Sodom burned, and Lot was losing his family, Abraham prayed. What a privilege we have as God's people to view from a different vantage point the decline of our society, and to intercede for our culture. God wants us to be a praying people.
When it comes to our eternal destiny there is only one question that matters. Do you have the Son of God abiding in you or not? Have you trusted Jesus and nothing else to save you? 1John 5:12 "He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life."
Salvation is a gift. Many try to pay for it by good works or church attendance or avoiding this or that. Those are all attempts to pay for a gift that Christ already paid for with His death in our place. "The wages of sin is DEATH" "while we were yet sinners, Christ DIED for us."
I am not saved because I feel saved or because I am currently living like a saved person would live or because of my church. I am saved because I have the Son of God. And I always will. 1John5:12 "He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life."
My salvation is based on God's Word. It is not based on my feelings in the moment. 1 John 5:13
So. Does one have to be “Happy Go Lucky” or can one simply be “Go Lucky”? Is that like a person who is miserable, but doesn’t get all that stressed by it? Just throwing it out there to help all my friends who need something to think on when they can’t sleep. You’re welcome.
When Jesus comes back He will claim what has always been His. Revelation 5:12 "... Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing."
Jesus understands what it's like to be poor. 2Corinthians 8:9 "For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich."
In Revelations 5:11-14 Jesus is receiving the worship that He deserved the first time He came, but they didn't recognize Him. The same is likely true for us. We didn't recognize Him the first time He came to us. But praise God, He never stopped pursuing us.
Revelation 5:11 "... Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing."
