The price you pay being you is what authenticity is about
It’s not correct to say people don’t change. We do- for better or worse. Our character is not static. Either we allow God to grow our character into his image through the Spirit.… or we slide back into sin and selfishness
There’s a difference between failing and being prevented to succeed
Prayer is not about trusting God to change an unpredictable world into a predictable one. It is about trusting Him in certainty and uncertainty
Christians are NOT called to defend any form of war, violence or retaliation. We are called to follow the Prince of Peace. We are peacemakers. We mourn the deaths and suffering of the innocent, the poor and the forgotten, irrespective of their race or religion
It’s tragic when believers are killed in a church- only to covered up as a mistake by a politician. The saddest part is when many believers write off the deaths of Christians in the church in Gaza as collateral damage. Jesus weeps! We should also!
Jesus was simultaneously human and divine. That’s why He presented God in a concrete, visible during his earthly ministry. In Jesus the divine and human met in a very unique way
If faith (belief!) is based on nothing more than admiration for miracles and answered prayers, Jesus will not be duly impressed (John 2:23-25)
Some “shop” for nice churches like they shop for clothes—style, fit, comfort, looks. But the earliest church didn’t gather for spiritual entertainment. They gathered to worship Jesus and to build up each other’s faith
We carry the life of Jesus in our heart, our soul, our veins, our body, our thoughts, our emotions, our deeds..
The prophets of Israel weren’t impressed by Israel’s unfaithfulness & idolatry. In the 8th century BC Amos announced the end of the Ten Tribes. This happened soon afterwards in 722-721 BC when Assyria destroyed them. Let’s remain faithful to God
God’s love is a verb, actually. It is fully revealed at the cross of Jesus
Today the present turns into the past and the future into the present Today is the day of the Lord
