I think next week we'll be able to finally open source our own 6DoF running on Qualcomm XR chips. It's more work than anticipated as we also have to distribute a special firmware for devs to be able to change the runtime. More perception features need to become a commodity!
Clone Wars mod for Contractors VR is simply too good. As someone that enjoyed countless hours of the first Battlefront (2004 & 2005), this has been a blessing.
Did a 1000 miles trip to get very high end optical metrology equipments for Lynx (Zygo & Taylor Hobson stuff). Felt like transporting nitroglycerin by scooter.

Hi guys, after months and months of battle with our manufacturer behind the scenes, we got our hands on the last shipment of R1. Half a metric ton of XR headsets in our office to QA & ship. I'll be able to give a status update on final shipments and refunds next week on KS and YT

It’s kinda crazy how much the “XR industry” is trying to “force” me to like smartglasses products So much hype around them. Hundreds of startups making them. All are the same pitch But holy shit they’re so boring after you indoctrinated yourself to the full HMD lifestyle

For anyone going to #AWE2025, we need to talk. See you there!
IYKYK. Incredible photo for the XR world if you know these people (and the location/context, but that's for later ;-)).

It was great to catch up with @stanlarroque from @Lynx_xr in Taipei today! Something extremely exciting is coming up...! #lynxNextGen #hypervision #wideFOV #androidXR
i think enough progress was made on project northstar and indie headsets that we could probably make it, but it would be starting from scratch in a lot of ways. @stanlarroque lynx-r1 was probably the most feature-complete hardware i had a chance to try out
"What the fuck did you just bring upon this cursed land?" Seen on the Lynx unofficial discord discord.gg/YKCBWyA2

Thanks for asking. The Lynx-R1 had successful integrations with the camera access, like this one with Vuforia Engine, mainly for B2B applications in various industries. Even in limited quantities at first, the R1 has been to places hopefully Meta products will never go.
I think in your picture you confused the Quest 3 with another headset that has been doing this for a long time.
Creating things in public/open source is the one and only Virtuous Cycle. 3 years ago, I made my first ever YouTube tutorial (please don't watch it) about hand tracking with Nreal light (now @XREAL_Global) using @Taka_Yoshinaga's GitHub project github.com/TakashiYoshina… Later, I…
Google confirmed that camera access on Android XR will happen in the same way as on the phones! skarredghost.com/2025/02/07/and… #VirtualReality There have been many rumors in this sense in the past weeks, and all of us big supporters of camera access on headsets like me, @cixliv ,…
