Remembering former CFC player Norman Wood who was KIA OTD in 1916. He was involved in the heavy fighting to take Delville Wood during the Somme Campaign. Norman’s body was never recovered and so his death is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial. buff.ly/UhZIdlW

Shot Of The Day. The Chelsea team stand in solemn tribute to King George VI at Roker Park on 9th February 1952. The monarch had passed away three days earlier and it was also a bad day for Chelsea as they fell to a heavy 4-1 defeat against Sunderland.
