I’m going to have to change my view about the strikes if politicians keep posting like this.
That's very inspiring, Chris. What sort of champagne is your favourite? Are all doctors entitled to champagne? Are taxpayers's entitled to champagne, or is it just for doctors?
Good luck to resident doctors in their campaign for better pay and working conditions. You are getting a lot of flack from politicians and public but you really do deserve better. That said I wouldn’t have voted for a strike but that’s just a personal position. Not BMA member.

Had a super holiday on Paros, but it’s good to see Betty again and walk familiar tracks between showers

Young doctors should demand more than a pay rise — they need a life. Good article which asks the fundamental question: why does specialist training take so long in the uk vs other countries? It’s still, despite all the worthy reports, about “time served” on.ft.com/44WR3Oq
A perfect synopsis of all the issues and why residents are going on strike newstatesman.com/politics/healt…
“Widgets in an assembly line” - yep that’s what trainees tell me. And the factory is certainly not for making clinical academics
Leng may not have gone far enough for some people, but she was spot on with her observations about the way we have messed up postgraduate medical training.

I read the rest of the review coloured by Prof Leng’s forward which I thought was exceptional Not least because she is quite clear that resident training is broken and she’s the first in a position of true authority to admit it Powis and Whitty ignore this at their peril
Mykonos and Paros. One thing I object to and I’m sure many Greek’s as well is the surge in privatisation of wild land and access to the sea beaches - big gates, private signs on tracks, walls down to the beach or cliff edge, sunbeds over the entire beach. Selfish use of money
Job alert! Come and join an ambitious and growing department with supportive colleagues and plenty of scope for building subspecialty interests.. beautiful surrounding South Staffs and Shropshire countryside and also host the NIHR WM RRDN bmj.com/careers/job/71…
Went to Kalogeros beach where you can make a face mask from the clay cliffs. I wasn’t going to participate but skincare is skincare.

The bottom line with all NHS staff, not just doctors, is that unless you make the NHS a decent place to work, with a decent enough salary to be able to pay off your debts and afford to buy a house near where you work, or at least know where you’re going to be working in the next…
Penniless and homeless, Raynor and Moth Winn found fame with The Salt Path: the story of their 630-mile walk to salvation. It became a global bestseller and was adapted into a major film. But we can reveal it wasn’t the whole truth. @chloehadj Read: bit.ly/3GtJXsy
