Skydog is a non-profit Mustang Sanctuary which rescues wild horses and burros and reunites equine families torn apart during BLM roundups.
Hyas’ energy has changed enormously from a shattered victim of extreme abuse to a restless boy pacing the fence lines looking for more #mares to jumping the fence entirely to steal some. But it is in this #wildhorse bachelor band with Wild Boy & Elliot that he begins to settle.
Wren, a visually impaired #mare from #OR, was shaking with fear in a TX killpen. We looked for a comforting travel companion and there was Elliot, a youngster from #WY. The BLM in both states are wiping out their #wildhorses this year, so we jumped to give these two #sanctuary.
🚨 In response to our lawsuit, BLM has postponed its plan to zero out Wyo.'s Salt Wells Creek and Adobe Town Herd Areas! The ongoing Adobe Town roundup was not the subject of our lawsuit and will continue as planned. AWHC observers captured this disturbing video at the roundup.
Marjorie Morningstar takes the time and space she needs to recover from the terror and loss of the slaughter pipeline. In peace and quiet, she rests under a shady tree with meals delivered consistently, a clean pen, fresh water, comforting neighbors, and a gentle new routine.

We are so grateful to @dodo for digging deep to understand why this #wildhorse family was separated in the first place. The ugly truth they have uncovered about @BLMnational will leave you speechless. It is not too late to save our wild mustangs!
It ripped my heart out to see 30yo Marjorie Morning Star alone in a kill pen. Her dignity and helplessness in the face of such cruelty. Good food and a hoof trim already have her feeling better, along with kindness, soft voices, love and respect. You are home now, Marge.
Her #hooves were so long, she tripped over them. A harness was on so long, it became embedded in her skin. She’s been hungry so long her ribs are showing. Blind in 1 eye, this sweet mare was dumped in a kill pen at age 30. The abuse and neglect end now: she’s coming to #skydog.
