Medicaid cuts would impact the safety, staffing, and quality of care in nursing homes across PA. Now is the time to invest in, NOT divest from, our communities, the most vulnerable, and the workers who care for them! pennlive.com/opinion/2025/0…
“If we say we value our seniors, we need to prove it — with fair pay, safe staffing, training, and real respect for the work we caregivers do.” Check out the recent letter to the editor Pat, a nursing home CNA from Dauphin, sent to The Citizen Standard: citizenstandard.com/opinion/letter…

With MASSIVE Medicaid cuts passed, it’s critical to protect safe standards & care. We’re proud 2.5k union nursing home workers reached our first contracts w/ responsible operators via our labor-industry partnership. Together, we invested in caregivers as more PAians need them.
‘We had to make tough decisions’: More than 2,500 workers at 27 Pa. nursing homes approve new two-year contracts pennlive.com/business/2025/…
BREAKING: 2.5k union workers won strong contracts at PA nursing homes! With Medicaid cuts looming, caregivers are setting the standard for better care & jobs. New contracts include: ✅Raises ✅Training & Education ✅Secure Retirement This is frontline power. #UnionStrong

Scranton home care worker Krysten CALLS OUT @RepBresnahan for supporting the largest healthcare cuts in American history, just to pay for huge giveaways to billionaires. #CareOverBillionaires #RobBresnahan #CongressmanBresnahan
Our statement on Congress and the President passing the largest healthcare cuts in American history:

This July 4th (& every day!), nursing home workers across PA are fighting for fair wages, quality health insurance, & dignity for our residents. With contracts expiring at dozens of homes, we’re demanding safe staffing, strong care & respect for the people who make it possible.

Union healthcare workers across PA stand with the 9,000 AFSCME city workers on strike in Philadelphia ✊ #SolidarityForever

Nursing home workers are constantly doing more with less: fewer supplies, fewer staff, and constant job insecurity. It’s leading to burn out! Workers like Kim are ready to work with responsible operators and hold others accountable to raise the standards of care.

🚨The federal budget proposal threatens deep cuts to Medicaid, putting nursing home residents & caregivers at risk. Today, our President Matt Yarnell & frontline workers joined the Stop the Billionaire Giveaway Bus Tour in HBG with one clear message: Invest in care, not cuts. ✊

We’ve lost 30 nursing homes since 2020, making it harder and harder for people to find the care they need. That’s why 7,000+ union nursing home workers with contracts expiring this year are demanding better standards and wages which reflect how much we value resident care.

Since COVID, hundreds of workers have left the bedside for less demanding, higher paying jobs. More PAians need nursing home care, but there are not enough caregivers. That’s why Tysha & thousands of our union colleagues are standing together to raise care & job standards.💪

Maria, a CNA from Reading, lifts up how our residents deserve better care and staffing, and the only way we can do that is by improving nursing home jobs. Read more: bit.ly/460chNr.

Yesterday, community advocates & caregivers joined @RepJoshSiegel in Allentown to denounce the proposed federal cuts to Medicaid! We're calling on @SenMcCormickPA and @RepMackenzie to side with working families, not billionaires. #MedicaidSavesLives #SaveMedicaid

HAPPENING NOW: caregivers and advocates are demanding that PA lawmakers fund quality home care! Watch here: facebook.com/share/v/16jNyo…
Our seniors and nursing home residents need us to solve our nursing homes and workforce shortages *now*. We need to increase funding and invest it into caregiver wages, benefits, and training so Pennsylvanians can find the care they need. community.triblive.com/news/3807386
