10 years ago, I got divorced, lost my job, so me and my buddy got on our motorcycles and rode North to the Alaskan Arctic until the road ran out.

this is so neat. It’s like stepping into an alternate universe.

crazy how instantly doing this became an ancient bizarre thing we can barely imagine doing today

I'm launching the first chapters from a fantastic new book on Monday, and it's coming together really nicely. Chapters 1 and 2 are done, and chapter 3 is about 95% of the way there – now it's just polishing, polishing, and more polishing 🚀 twostraws.gumroad.com/p/introducing-…
Interestingly, this goes for almost all things. Signs/sign painting. Carpentry. Ceramics. Icon design. Everything has been optimized for easy creation, which eroded the main barrier to entry: having to master a craft’s complex tools & methods, which led to better products.

This is far and away the wisest take. It's very hard to get other people to believe it.
The best thing in my marriage is the hard work. Sounds weird but we truly are guardians of one another’s growth and I shudder to think who I’d be without it.
Since becoming a dad I’ve turned down every upgrade offer for flights and instead deposit their cost into my 2-year old daughter’s savings account. It makes less legroom feel fantastic
