Actually all of you are wrong. Benjamin Franklin University was the first Sun Belt football team to hire a full time General Manager when it did so in 1801.

Coastal Carolina head coach Tim Beck says they hired a General Manager this offseason and were the first in the Sun Belt to do so. CCU GM Scott Aligo was hired in January. Reed Grable was hired at Southern Miss in December. Close, but Huff and USM are the first staff with a GM.

"Whoever voted us 5th, you must have had too much bourbon on Bourbon Street. We should be last (in the SBC coaches poll). We were 1-11 last year." Charles Huff says the approach isn't from a staff that just won a title, but rather from shouldering 1-11 as their own weight.

Huff talked about the importance of understanding who the competitors are in the NIL era of recruiting. As an example he joked that Arkansas State must be doing well financially based on Jaylen Raynor's chain.
