Our work reveals that in zebrafish embryos, Wnt5b and Ror2 are transported via cytonemes to initiate Wnt-PCP signaling, challenging traditional views on cellular responsiveness based solely on receptor expression nature.com/articles/s4158… @UK_Wnt @LSI_Exeter
And one other thing for all zebbie folks….
What an excellent day @lifesciencebath @bathuni. Thanks to @bssrnk and @phil1pingham for hosting me. And what a great surprise that @stefarber joined. @LSI_Exeter

On my way to @lifesciencebath @UniofBath . Last changes to my presentation and checking the CV of my host 😆. @phil1pingham see you soon, Phil! @LSI_Exeter #cytoneme rocks!

Save the date! First Zebrafish meeting in the UK. 10 - 12. September 2025 in Exeter. @eu_fish @InfoIzfs

That is a big blow for Twitter. We did the transition yesterday. You can find us (and a supportive, open and scientifically interested community) on BlueSky: @scholpplab.blsky.social

Bluesky is currently the #1 free app on the Top charts 🔵 Twitter (X) is no longer in the top 25! You will find us @scholpplab.bsky.social like all the other cell/dev bios.
Ops, we just moved to bluesky as well. @scholpplab.bsky.social Happy days!
Seems like there is some serious momentum many months after I set up a profile there... If you're looking for me there use this bsky.app/profile/walent…

Congrats to Dr. Gemma. What an excellent day for a viva. You did a brilliant job! A special thank-you to Tanya Whitfield @TTWhitfield @uni_sheffield, who made it a great experience for Gemma. And thanks to Soojin and Nic to act as internal examiners. @LSI_Exeter

.... I am happy to tell you that your manuscript has been accepted for publication ... Oh, happy days! 😀
Congratulations to "Dr" Kevin for a successful PhD viva on Ror2 signalling in synaptogenesis in AD. Thanks to examiners Dr Nik and Prof Michael for a great viva. @LSI_Exeter

Excellent reunion of the cytoneme group with @dmvirshup and @lab_ogden at #Wnt2024 in @UniHeidelberg @dkfz. Contact-mediated signalling is crucial for Wnt and Shh, and we progress in zebrafish, mice and human organoids.

And another fantastic presentation from a WntUK founding member @VivianLiLab on Sox2 function in reprogramming. Wnt research rocks in the UK. #Wnt2024 @UK_Wnt

Hope to see many of you at the WntUK meeting in Oxford next year.
….. and a great plug for our @OxfordCancer sponsored WntUK meeting next year at @WorcCollegeOx @UniofOxford March 24th 2025.
Fantastic presentation from Sntonia Schubert from the @Boutroslab on Dvl2 condensate. And yes, they correlate with signal activation. Lots of discussion #Wnt2024 @wntuk2023164

Excellent talk by @wntlab about membranous vs nuclear location of β-catenin #wnt2024 @wntuk2023164

Back in Heidelberg and walking down memory lane. #wnt2024 @DKFZ @LSI_Exeter
