RIP Dr. James R. Doty, a pioneer in the study of compassion and the science of manifestation. Also, a friend. May all of his friends and family find peace during this sad time.

Mindfulness does not restrain you or cause you to be less spontaneous; it gives you greater flexibility to choose how you wish to be spontaneous and which delights will be conducive to growth and authentic joy.
It's a fascinating quirk of human nature that some days you can feel like conquering the world and some days you can barely make a decision. Part of self care is not beating yourself up over your off days but honoring the value of rest and recovery and preparing for the next day.
“We work so hard for something that is so fleeting. It really is. The feeling of winning just doesn’t last that long. It’s hard to explain how it just doesn’t satisfy.” This is well worth watching. Love this vulnerability from someone at the top of their game performance-wise.
Dont know if I can think of a time an athlete at the top of his sport has been this open and honest about their craft
