I don’t understand this. Michigan owns a stadium less than two hours from Kalamazoo in Ann Arbor. It owns a second one roughly four hours from Kalamazoo in Columbus. Either of these options are far closer than Germany, which is an entirely different country/continent/hemisphere.

Of all the things to gatekeep, Mr Brightside is a very odd choice. But as I think about it more, I understand why it upsets you. It’s 100% the perfect theme song for diehard MSU fans who adopt Ohio State fandom in an effort to cheer themselves up over being fully irrelevant.
Mr. Brightside is a song about a guy’s girlfriend cheating on him and his failing attempts to cheer himself up while she sleeps with the other guy.
