I’m thinking about organizing a study group to go @rasbt's latest book, Build a Large Language Model from Scratch. The idea is to read a chapter beforehand and then meet each week on Zoom to discuss, compare notes, and learn from each other. I think we can cover it in 6 weeks!

I heard we had a great session today at the AI from Scratch meeting! (I couldn't join because I took some time off to celebrate my birthday. But thankfully, @CapoDevel was there to help with the moderation 🎉) Today was our second study session of the "LLM Engineer's Handbook",…

Ok, extra bullish on @cursor_ai
I'm joining Cursor to teach the future of coding! There are millions of developers learning how to use AI and they need pragmatic advice: 1. We need to teach new developers strong foundations, so they know what to learn, and how to solve issues when debugging. 2. We need to…
confession: i really, really like occasionally pulling all-nighters for work-related or learning or reading-a-book sorts of reasons, and think that the energy an all-nighter brings is unique and irreplaceable
The first thing users see isn’t the product. It’s the documentation. That’s why we spent weeks planning, writing, and rewriting (again and again) to bring you the new Soda docs. Huge kudos to everyone who helped make them better! Take a look: docs.soda.io

Aren’t all desks standing? I’ve never seen a desk sitting or lying down.
"I don't know what an MCP is, and at this point I'm too afraid to ask" If you feel this way. Here is a simple answer. An MCP is how an LLM knows which API to call. So that you can make requests using natural language. That's it, as simple as that. Any other explanation gets…

To my grandmother. The most interesting person I know. santiviquez.com/blog/grandma

We had a great session today at the AI from Scratch meeting. We kicked off the study group for the "LLM Engineer's Handbook" by @maximelabonne and Paul Lusztin. Thanks to @CapoDevel for leading the first chapter discussion! Next week, we'll be talking about Chapter 2 (Tooling…

this book taught me more about real design thinking than my 2 year industrial design masters program. it rewired how i saw doors, buttons, systems, everything. now i build digital interfaces, and it still shapes how i think. one of the most high signal books i’ve ever read.

Don't worry about how long it will take to catch up learning something. Everyone before you had to incur that cost at some point. Choosing something you love makes it easier to be disciplined, pay attention to details, compound your knowledge. The score takes care of itself.
I'm so grateful for the number of socks I currently own. It literally makes me happy every morning.
