The decision to restructure how the U.S. delivers humanitarian assistance will have consequential impacts for years to come. Great piece from @projecthopeorg's @JMeline and @marciakimwong in @devex on the need for the @StateDept to maintain humanitarian capacity post-USAID.
Strong humanitarian capacity at the U.S. State Department is both a strategic and moral imperative. Here are essential components to maintain a robust U.S. humanitarian program. devex.com/news/opinion-u…
“Children tell their parents they want to go to heaven, because at least heaven has food.” We demand an immediate and permanent ceasefire, the opening of all land crossings and aid access to all of Gaza, and the restoration of a principled, UN-led humanitarian response. #Gaza
As mass starvation spreads across #Gaza, health and humanitarian aid workers and those we serve are wasting away. We joined 100+ organizations to urge governments to act. Full statement: projecthope.org/news-stories/p…
"Because of my low blood pressure I had to stop during a surgery on a girl who had been shot in the abdomen" - Health workers in #Gaza cannot treat patients because they are so malnourished. This cannot continue: theguardian.com/global-develop… via @guardian
“If we’re serious about health equity, we need to create a sustainable infrastructure that supports the organizations that make it a reality...The health of millions depends on it." Great piece from @projecthopeorg & our partners at the NAFC via @statnews
Many of the 17 million projected to lose Medicaid coverage will turn to struggling free health clinics. They need more financial support. trib.al/5LiWigU
I urge U.S. Senators to reject the rescission package. Cutting pre-allocated funding for health & humanitarian aid does not serve American interests. This funding keeps Americans safer & healthier by reducing health threats & improving global stability projecthope.org/take-action/ho…
Urge the Senate to reject proposed cuts to international aid funding that has already been approved for 2025. These cuts aren’t just numbers on a spreadsheet. They represent vaccines for children, basic care for people displaced by war, clean water for families in crisis, and…
Just 4 days after 10 children were killed outside @projecthopeorg's health clinic in #Gaza, 6 more children were killed while collecting water on Sunday. That's 16 children who died trying to access humanitarian aid in the span of days. Ceasefire now. cnn.com/2025/07/13/mid…
The deliberate targeting of an ambulance is a stark reminder of the risks frontline health workers face every day in #Ukraine. Attacks on ambulances are a grave violation of International Humanitarian Law, & endanger the lives of medical personnel and civilians!
On July 9, a Project HOPE-supported ambulance was deliberately targeted by an FPV drone in Kharkiv Oblast. Attacks like this endanger lives and compromise emergency care access for civilians. Thankfully, no medical personnel or patients were injured. projecthope.org/news-stories/p…
Yesterday, @projecthopeorg's Dr. Mithqal spoke with @CBSNews about the airstrike on our health clinic in Deir al Balah in #Gaza which killed 15 civilians, including 10 children as they lined up for care. This senseless violence must end now! Civilians should never be a target!
Surveillance video shows the moment an Israeli airstrike hit near a Gaza clinic run by U.S.-based Project Hope, killing 10 children. Israel says it was targeting a Hamas operative, but the charity calls it a violation of international law. cbsn.ws/44E6tab
15 people killed waiting in line for our #Gaza health clinic - 10 children. Angry, horrified & heartbroken cannot properly communicate how we feel anymore. Deconfliction mechanisms fail again & again. A ceasefire cannot come soon enough.
This morning, an airstrike killed 15 civilians, including 10 children and two women, and injured many more outside Project HOPE's health clinic in Deir al Balah, Gaza. The strike occurred as patients had gathered outside the clinic, awaiting its opening to receive treatment for…
I was fortunate to visit #Ukraine recently. So much had changed since the beginning of the full-scale war, but what remained consistent was the heart & spirit of the Ukrainian people. I am so proud of this team & of what they've been able to accomplish together. Слава Україні! 🇺🇦
"In times of crisis, it's not only about delivering aid — it's about standing with people for the long haul." - President and CEO @rtorbay We remain committed to: ✅ Health care facility rehabilitation ✅ Mental health support ✅ Mobile units for rural areas ✅ Emergency…
Yesterday marked 6 months since wildfires devastated #LosAngeles. @projecthopeorg is still there & is focused on addressing the immediate & long-term mental health needs of impacted communities, particularly children & frontline workers. Learn more here: projecthope.org/news-stories/s…
What’s happening with food aid in #Gaza is abhorrent & unconscionable. @projecthopeorg is seeing a sharp rise in malnutrition among children & pregnant women. The traditional aid mechanism was working—it must be reinstated. Unhindered humanitarian access is urgent.
BREAKING: Airstrikes and shootings killed 82 Palestinians in Gaza, including 38 people while waiting to get aid, hospitals and the Health Ministry said. apnews.com/article/israel…
The incredible lifesaving impact of U.S. global health and development funding over the past 2 decades is truly remarkable. Now, we have a responsibility to do what we can to avoid backsliding on the progress we've made globally.
U.S. global health and development aid is estimated to have saved 92 million lives over the past 20 years. We can't afford to let that kind of progress unravel: b-gat.es/4kjSUCG
Not unlike the U.S., the Dominican Republic has been cracking down on Haitian migrants. In April alone, authorities deported ~900 pregnant or breastfeeding women, often separating them from their newborns. This will surely lead to more death & suffering. moretoherstory.com/stories/as-hai…
The U.S.' recent announcement to terminate its $2.6B commitment to @gavi could result in 75M children not getting vaccinated, resulting in over 1M deaths. In our interconnected world, a disease is just a flight away. More on this at @projecthopeorg: projecthope.org/news-stories/t…
I spent the last week in #Ukraine (during #WorldRefugeeDay2025) where I saw the impacts of war & mass displacement firsthand. I wouldn't wish it upon anyone. There are 123M forcibly displaced people across the globe, including over 47M children. We continue to stand with them.
Hey, are you still with us? In the face of ongoing wars, humanitarian crises and displacement, the world must not look away. Choose empathy over apathy. Choose solidarity with refugees. #WorldRefugeeDay
Walked into my hotel room in Odesa and found these by the bedside among the "amenities." This is life in #Ukraine now — sirens, strikes, and resilience.

A mother named Aseer & her young son with Cerebral palsy visit our @projecthopeorg clinics in #Gaza 3x/day for his medical needs, including a respiratory infection. She told our team, "If the clinic were to close, it would feel like every door of hope has been shut in my face."

Last night, I felt what millions of Ukrainians have endured for 3+ years — The terror of relentless bombardment and sleepless nights. Today, Kyiv mourns 16 more lives lost. My heart is with their families and everyone living through this nightmare. 🇺🇦 reuters.com/world/mass-dro…
back in Kyiv 🇺🇦with an amazing team and incredibly resilient people! my @projecthopeorg colleagues are braving daily drone and missile attacks to serve others on the frontlines! couldn’t be prouder.
