I am very excited today to announce my candidacy to be the next at-large member of Allegheny County Council!

After my opponent tried and failed to illegally cancel this election earlier in the summer, he went on to try again. Well, today the courts told him - again - that democracy is not optional. This election is happening.

Running for office can have its perks. I have to say a photo shoot with kittens has been one of my favorite events.

I had a great morning meeting voters outside the Squirrel Hill Farmers Market! Due to the Republican budget cuts, the county has had to slash the size of the market vouchers that senior citizens use. I will do my best to prioritize the services that our residents need.

To any ICE agent committing these crimes: Understand this clearly. Your actions are illegal, and accountability is not a question of if, but when. When this regime, defined by its incompetence and perversity, collapses, we will ensure you face a full and unsparing reckoning.

This is a national disgrace. A violation of human rights. Total disregard for the Constitution and the rule of law. The indiscriminate use of force by the state is anathema to a healthy democracy.

Despite seemingly forgetting how to smile while taking this, I was proud to stand up for good trouble on Pittsburgh's Northside yesterday. I heard everyone there loud and clear. Less chaos. More needed services.

A couple of the folks who have spent their afternoon dming me threats and abuse keep blocking me the moment after they send their most recent message, then a bit later work up the courage to unblock me for two minutes to send another message. lol. Tough guys here.

I was proud to stand up for our environment at Pittsburgh's Environmental Action Day! We need clean air to breathe and clean water to drink. My commitment to that goal is rock solid. Also, a big shoutout to the "Raging Grannies" for standing up for the next generation.

It was great to meet voters from Avalon and Bellevue for some morning coffee today! We had some good discussions ranging from everything from pushing back on DC chaos to getting sidewalks installed.

I think it's bad that the Trump Admin's response to someone pointing out their policies of chaos led to mass death is to try to get that person fired. If the admin would like to now fire me, they can take it up with the hiring committee reviewing me, the people of Allegheny.
