What A royalist officer wears, the final layer: Arms and armour. Consisting of a Cuirass breastplate, an officers Spontoon and a sword. The spontoon as well as been a symbol of rank could be used as a conventional halberd/spear.
What A royalist officer wears, third layer: initial protection. Consisting of a sleeveless buff coat, offering flexible protection to the upper thighs and shoulders.

Handgonne ca. 1400. Loosely modelled after the Tannenberg castle gun, mine is loaded with around 50-60 gr. of 2F black powder and fires a .75 calibre lead ball.
I drew the illustration of Edmund Ironside's legendary duel against Cnut for #ManuscriptMonday minus the horses:P I've seen one other medieval illustration have a red spear as a weapon in it and I'm not sure what the meaning is, if any, but it looks very cool♥️
