Q.: Who’s really ignoring the context? A.: Not the Calvinists.

“We talk about ministers as if they were public performers, and of sermons as if they were entertainments.” —Arthur Mursell (1831-1914), “Sermon by Mr. Mursell,” in Archibald Brown, East London Tabernacle Pulpit, (London: Francis & Sons, 1873), 341.
¹⁴ “For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.” —Matthew 7:14 ESV ¹⁴ “For many are called, but few are chosen.” —Matthew 22:14 ESV ²⁹ For it has been granted to you that for the sake of Christ you should not only believe…

When you think grace is merely excusing what God’s Law condemns it’s no surprise that you consider those who proclaim that Law abusive and seek hope in their deaths.

¹⁵ Precious in the sight of the Lᴏʀᴅ is the death of his saints. —Psalm 116:15 (ESV)
Our hearts are heavy, yet rejoicing, as we share the news that our beloved pastor and teacher John MacArthur has entered into the presence of the Savior. This evening, his faith became sight. He faithfully endured until his race was run. 2 Timothy 4:1-8
