In today's edition, I am sharing my article about the demand for clean energy transition in Africa by the youth and women in grassroots communities. Read my full article here:👉 Not In Our Name: Youth and Women Reject Dirty Development in Africa. linkedin.com/pulse/our-name…

Meeting people from different districts showed me the harsh reality of climate change — lost harvests, destroyed homes, and lives at risk. Climate education is urgent if we want communities to survive and fight back. Knowledge is the weapon we need now.
Communities need brave voices. HRDs stand at the frontline of justice, speaking out against abuse, inequality, and injustice. We believe legal empowerment is not a privilege, it’s a right. When HRDs know the law and access justice, they are safer, stronger, and more effective."
We need to continue to identify our issues and together brain storm to solve them. We are happy for our continued collaboration with @RefineryOil to empower our communities to become more resilient to different challenges.
During the consultative meeting we held with the grassroots community organisers in hoima organized by @NatureTalk_A , we discovered stress as the key emerging issue among the community organisers in the oil affected region.

Renewable energy for all! 🌞💚 Youth demand clean, affordable energy for grassroots communities in Africa #RePowerAfrika
We have formed groups in oil affected communities that deal in off-season farming, the groups deal in vegetable growing & pond fishing. This has not only strengthened food security but also improved their income levels. #communityempowerment #foodsecurity #livelihoodrestoration
I not only moderated the #REPowerAfrica at #Year1 celebration organized by @RefineryOil & @NatureTalk_A but also listened attentively when reality of climate change impacts was statistically explained by the ED @NewsNjema thanks to @350Africa for taking lead of #RenewableEnergy
Youth & women are rising to demand a just energy future They envision a clean, renewable energy path that protects their communities and the planet, not one driven by fossil fuels and harmful development interests. The call is clear: it's time to re-power Africa. #RepowerAfrika
We must shift to a more sustainable energy paradigm #RepowerAfrika #anniversary
During yesterday's #RepowerAfrika campaign anniversary celebration in Kyakaboga organized by @RefineryOil and @NatureTalk_A When asked about my energy dream, I said it's all about harnessing clean energy sources like solar and wind power for a sustainable future #CleanEnergy

"We defended a spring well from destruction by the Tilenga project without adequate compensation. We demanded contractors build a similar well before destroying the existing one." Abedilembe, community organizer in Katooke village during a consultative meeting by @NatureTalk_A
