.@ClareHymer and I have spent the past 5 months interviewing Britain's political prisoners about life inside – and thinking about the kind of people that give up their freedom for a cause. Ep 1 of Committed is out today, listen here or on the NM feed novaramedia.com/committed/
The direct action today against the Leonardo weapons factory has been charged as terrorism. That is directly contrary to the High Court judgment in London on 4 July which refused to delay the proscription of Palestine Action. It said explicitly that this would not happen.
Turns out "only Jewish people should be allowed to define anti-semitism" extends to Islamophobia, too: the government's Islamophobia definition working group is being overseen by Joel Salmon, a former Board of Deputies official.
EXCLUSIVE: The government blocked its Islamophobia working group from consulting Muslim organisations - but it consulted figures themselves accused of Islamophobia. The WG is overseen by someone who went to Israel with a group accused of operating in illegal settlements:
Wild to me that the largest labour union in the US would have a relationship with a Zionist lobby group only thinly veiled as an antisemitism NGO in the first place, but great!
Good morning, the largest labor union in the US just cut ties with the ADL (Apartheid-Defense League). Keep Greenblatt in your thoughts, he might be out of a job soon. 🥀
A small guarded enclosure exclusively for one ethnic group, where people are "concentrated" and cannot enter/exit freely. If only there were a word for it...

.@jakewsimons thinks the "Green" in "Red-Green alliance" stands for Hamas.
This is unhinged. Last week I called for a Red-Green alliance - that is for a new left party to make a pact with the Green Party. @JakeWSimons wrote in the Telegraph that 'Green' represents 'sectarian Muslim voters'. What. The. Actual. Fuck.
The "Gaza Riviera" project was so controversial that even @BCG banned its staff from undertaking it and has since fired the partners involved. Meanwhile, @InstituteGC staff participated in full view of, and with full approval from, TBI.

The more that comes out about what's happening in Gaza - to a captive population of two million people - the more I wonder about the comprehension levels of journalists who continue to be flummoxed by why people might want to show solidarity with Palestinians facing a genocide.
Woken up unable to say, even to two friends, that I support a non-violent protest group. No journalistic exemption, 14 years in prison. If this were happening anywhere east of Turkey we'd be calling it an authoritarian regime.
