The book and television miniseries, Queenie, was inspired by the life of classic film star, Merle Oberon. Oberon was of British and Indian heritage. She was born in India and was married to Sir Alexander Korda whose nephew, Michael Korda, wrote the book.

Stewart Granger was born in the UK May 6, 1913. He starred in such films as Young Bess (1953), Beau Brummell (1954), Scaramouche (1952), and The Prisoner of Zenda (1952). One of his wives was the actress, Jean Simmons.

Richard Todd & Jean Peters starred in A Man Called Peter (1955). It covered the life of the chaplain of the Senate, Peter Marshall. It was based on a book by his wife, Catherine Marshall. Catherine was also the author of other works such as the novel, Christy.

Athole Shearer (left) was the sister of classic film star, Norma Shearer (right). She was also a wife of the director, Howard Hawks.

Dragonwyck (1946) starred Gene Tierney and Vincent Price. It鈥檚 based on a book by Anya Seton. Tierney and Price had previously starred together on screen. An example of a film is Laura (1944).

Janet Leigh was born in California July 6, 1927. She was discovered by Norma Shearer. Two of her films were Psycho & Little Women. Shearer had been a big star at Metro Goldwyn Mayer. Some of Shearer鈥檚 films were The Divorcee, Marie Antoinette, The Women, & A Free Soul.
