One of the worst trends in youth sports: parents tying their whole identity to their kid’s AAU or club team. Detachment is power. The parents who played college or pro usually get it — they mentor without overstepping. The ones who didn’t need to observe and learn.

As someone lucky enough to afford sports programs for my children, the business of youth sports is out of control. Paid $15 to park and $15 to watch one game of my son play basketball. IMO, this is why parents are stressed out and hoping their "investment" pays off.

Woke up this morning and realized how great the @PNWBaseball Games went. The kids balled out. We had commitments…Portal Game offers and commitments. We continued to build and make great relationships. Just made me happy. #PACStrong

Coastal Carolina’s Head Coach gets ejected in the 1st inning of the CWS Finals. 1B Coach Matt Schilling was also ejected This is embarrassing for the sport. Need umpires with thicker skin. Emotional game with a lot on the line.

Just tell us you want the SEC to win. That’s a joke and Im all for protecting umpires at all cost. That is a ridiculous ejection as well as the flop and it undermines the game. Just like the phantom strike three call vs Little Rock. All in on Coastal right now. @PNWBaseball…

We have lost it in youth sports. Watching my son play in an 8U tournament and the opposing team’s coach got thrown out for arguing with the umpire. We are failing our kids… IT’S 8U!

Don’t quit on the next gen of kids. Some are still playing whiffle ball. @PNWBaseball
