The trailer was honestly the least of the film's problems. The problem was there was no nuances to the story and it's predicated on making fun of Disney's The Little Mermaid than actually taking the premise seriously. Like the whole Mermaids are evil falls flat beyond Disney.
I haven’t watched Ruby Gillman, but it makes me sad what happened to it. It didn’t look or sound like a bad film, but its trailer fucked it over by SPOILING the whole movie.

A new pitch for the MCU Blade Movie: Sauron the Pterosaur Man plots to turn the world population into dinosaurs so he can then feed on their energy like the vampire he is. Blade is tasked to hunt and kill Sauron, and fights a legion of mutant dinosaur vampires.
