@KagutaMuseveni led erosion of judicial independence is keeping political detainees behind bars. #GrantBesigyeAndLutaleBail #FreeAllPoliticalPrisonersInUganda
Why fail to reassign a case to someone who is present? Why torture activists just because you’re on leave enjoying your life? How can a trespass case keep people arrested for over 2½ months? @JudiciaryUG you are not fair — you have failed us.
Justice Namanya Frank has tossed the #KCB11 case around since April 23 and after going on leave on June 26, the Chief Magistrate still refused to reassign it to another available magistrate. Now the case is pushed to July 17, keeping peaceful activists behind bars for 85 days.
Kasoga Shakira, wife to one of the #KCB11 activists, appeared in court with her children, hoping for her husband’s release. She pleads for help from the public, saying it’s hard for her to handle everything alone as the case keeps being tossed around with no clear way forward.
Welcome back to freedom @bobbarigye1 and other comrades. We must continue defending our environment.
Welcome back brother
Three months in prison for petitioning against a project that threatens our environment? The prosecutor's motives are questionable. Silencing dissent won't stop us! I'm proud to have stood up against EACOP, and I won't back down. #StopEACOP
After nearly three months in detention, the #KCB11 activists were finally granted cash bail of UGX 200,000 each (UGX 2.2M total) at 5:30 PM. With banks already closed, they’ll return to court tomorrow to finalize the process. Welcome back comrades.
Update: We’re at Nakawa Chief Magistrate’s Court for the KCB 11 case. Court is currently on break until 3:30 PM. We remain strong and steadfast, committed to seeing justice served without compromise.
Wait!!!!!!.......... These activists were given bail last Thursday, how come they've still been in detention. This is shocking!!!! @SuunaKing_James @MbabaziFridah
FINALLY!!!!!!!! The 11 climate activists that were arrested at KCB in April have been released. They have served over three months on remand at Kampala Remand. #STOPEACOP

Finally reunited with loved ones after a wholesome three months in prison. Case? Delivering a protest petition @kcbbankug. Comrade @bobbarigye1 and other environmental defenders were granted bail yesterday. @MuvunyiTalent writes 📸 @MbabaziFridah
“90 Days in Luzira for Defending the Planet.” 📸 They protested peacefully. They were jailed. Now they’re free. Uganda’s environmental defenders are back home—but not backing down. 🔗 Read their story of resilience, reunion, and resistance. c-news.ug/after-90-days-…

My dearest Kagaba John, my clanmate, my brother, and the MD @ctvuganda. HBD Amooti , my day one! Life’s better, bolder, and brighter with you in it. Here’s to more years of loyalty, laughter, and leveling up together!". Happy Birthday, my dear Kagaba John!

Dear @mtnug your Shoprite service center needs to pull up. Why do you have 10 counters and only 5 have attendants? How can we seat here for ours for as something small as a sim upgrade? You take so much of our money for us to be treated like this.
A well-deserved rest, Counsel Eron! Your courage in the face of adversity is a beacon of hope. We can't wait to see you back at work, championing the causes that matter🙏🙏🙏
Sweet liberty. Thank you friends, family, lawyers, activists, politicians, comrades and everyone who weighed in with prayers, solidarity, prison visits, legal interventions, money, counselling, cheers, songs, statements, demonstrations… Your support over the three months of my…

Interesting response from @NEMA_Uganda. Blocking @SuunaKing_James for highlighting environmental issues doesn't exactly scream 'commitment to transparency.' Hope this isn't the new face of environmental governance in Uganda. #NEMA #EnvironmentalGovernance”"

DPC Kira Road. The threats you tell my Tayari supervisors, tell them to me directly. I have stomached a lot of your nonsense. Enough is enough!
.@stanbicug, you’re funding a project that threatens Uganda’s water sources, biodiversity & the livelihoods of millions. Even major banks have refused to touch #EACOP- why are you still involved? #StopEACOP #StanbicDivest @stopEACOP
