I was just looking at Sierra Veins, like really looking, my gosh, the sky had a lot to say that night on August 15th, 2023. I now remembered that a bolt landed right on the ancient tree next to me. @pengwinpants will be a lucky man when the auction closes.
A tragedy has occurred near where I captured this image. Dozens dead after a tourist boat rolled over in heavy seas, due to a sudden storm. π¦

We get 12 full moons per year. Scratch 2-3 if stormy. We get 20-30 Auroras per year. Scratch 50% north, misses, or stormy/cloudy. Quick math suggests we have more opportunity to see the Aurora than a full moon. At least thatβs what Iβm telling myself. :)
