Vision Neuroscientist interested in the functional organization of visual cortex 🧠
“A network of face patches in human prefrontal cortex for social processing of faces” biorxiv.org/content/10.110… Let us characterize a novel network of four frontal face patches (FFPs) arranged dorsoventrally in the human lateral prefrontal cortex! 🔢 @rajimehr @ElaheYargholi
My heroes in neuroscience: Roger Tootell, Robert Desimone, and John Duncan (my advisors in Harvard University, MIT, and University of Cambridge); Patrick Cavanagh, Nancy Kanwisher, and David Van Essen (not my direct advisors, but I interacted with them and learnt a lot from them)

Check out THE parcellation! @rajimehr news.mit.edu/2024/neuroscie…
Very well deserved … Congratulations @Nancy_Kanwisher @doristsao Winrich Freiwald
Just Announced! The #KavliPrize2024 Laureates in #Neuroscience!
A cool illustration made by Azadeh Barimani for our Cell Reports paper doi.org/10.1016/j.celr… @firoozi_arsalan

Our new paper in @CellReports provides new insights into what the homologues of language areas in the right cerebral hemisphere are doing. With @firoozi_arsalan @HosseinRafipoor @NooshinAbbasi and John Duncan. Done in @mrccbu doi.org/10.1016/j.celr…

Presenting a poster (Functional organization of face-responsive regions in lateral prefrontal cortex) in #ohbm2022 on Monday and Tuesday afternoon. My student, Mojan, received the OHBM travel award for this work, but she couldn’t get visa on time :( So I am presenting instead.

Do you see it? You might need to watch more than once. Don’t spoil it for others when you see it.
Promoting #HCP in Iran. We just had this virtual workshop with @MoatazAssem and two brilliant students of Sharif University (Arsalan Firoozi and Mojan Izadkhah). @HumanConnectome

In #OHBM2022 abstract submission, undergrad/BS students are apparently ineligible for travel award application. No ‘In training’ choice for them. They are absolutely in training! @OHBM

The fundamental secret of the brain has finally been uncovered:
🧠Limbic system🧠 I shared Broca's 1878 paper introducing the idea which really became popular with Paul MacLean (late 1940s). But this notion has simply not helped neuroscience, in fact is largely problematic. Many others have talked about this in the past, like @theamygdaloid
