Super proud of @lmkdassama as are @jmarbol21 and @psunerdcircus whom she worked for here @BMB_PSU @PSUScience @psu_chemistry !!!
The brilliant Squire Booker @BookerMan_PSU mentored our very talented Institute Scholar Laura Dassama @lmkdassama at @penn_state. From great mentors come great faculty! #BlackinChem #BlackChemistsWeek
It's #BlackinInorganic Wednesday! I've spent a lot of my time being #BlackInChem trying to understand how nature uses heavy metals to store, transfer, and create energy in metalloproteins. My favorite transition metal is iron because it's buried in so many cool proteins!
Yikes, I am, well, was, so ready for it. Even bifunctionalized my Steelers jersey to teach Mössbauer section #nerdcircus Sorry @MattBauerle but my inner nerd aligned those names

We are sad that we cannot host the next generation of bioinorganic chemists in June 2020 at Penn State, but are all the more excited to meet you in June 2021 at the next workshop!
Due to the ongoing health risk caused by the corona virus, we decided – in consultation with officials from The Pennsylvania State University – to postpone the 6th Penn State Bioinorganic Workshop to June 2021. Further updates will be provided here sites.psu.edu/bioinorganic/2…
Congratulations Squire!!
Congratulations Squire J. Booker @BookerMan_PSU of @penn_state @HHMINEWS, newly elected #NASmember! #NAS156 #biochemistry nasonline.org/news-and-multi…
The next Penn State Bioinorganic Workshop is about to happen. 169 participants, including 83 teachers and lecturers. 1,100 2-h training units in 21 methods are scheduled. Let the 2018 #nerdcircus begin. 'Tis the calm before the storm ...
It appears that one jacket I only wear when @MegaMatthewsLab gets a Penn State alumni award, it would seem. Look what I found in the pocket. Congrats Megan!
